Fixing vintage spring guns (part 2), overview of the Walther Lever Action & Q&A - Pyramyd Air Waves, issue #19

If you own vintage guns or would like to start collecting them, this podcast is essential for you! Tom tells you when it's okay to refinish & when it ruins the value of a gun. He also tells you where you can buy original parts.

Do you enjoy repeating airguns? Then you've got to try the Walther Lever Action rifle. It's an 8-shot CO2 repeater that's not only fun to shoot but remarkably accurate, too. Listen as Tom gives you a muzzle-to-butt overview of this nifty replica of the Winchester 1894 firearm.

In the Q&A segment, Tom addresses lots of questions: Have I ruined my spring gun by dry-firing it several times? Is a .22 caliber Shark rifle sufficient for hunting doves? Which double-action CO2 pellet pistol do you recommend...that won't leak? How do I level the reticle of my scope? What's the best air pistol to discourage bears, mountain lions & cougars?

Tom Gaylord (host of Pyramyd Air Waves) has been an airgunner for over a half-century, but it was the Beeman company in the 1970s that awoke a serious interest in airguns. Until then, all he knew were the inexpensive American airguns. Through the pages of the Beeman catalog, he learned about adult airguns for the first time.

In 1994, Tom started The Airgun Letter, with his wife, Edith. This monthly newsletter was designed to bring serious reports about airguns to the American public. The newsletter and Airgun Revue, a sister magazine about collectible airguns, was published from 1994 until 2002, when Tom started Airgun Illustrated--the first American newsstand magazine about airguns.

Tom worked for three years as technical director at AirForce Airguns, the makers of the Talon and Talon SS precharged air rifles. Today, he writes about airguns and firearms for various publications and web sites. He also makes videos, and you'll find short clips embedded in some of his articles on our web site.
